Last week, we took our first family vacation with the four of us. As we were sitting by the pool, a woman came up to me and said "You are very brave" and I replied "I think crazy is more like it"...she said "I was trying to be nice." Well, brave or crazy, we had a great time. We spent a day at the beach having a picnic, playing in the sand, and playing near the very cold water. We also spent time at the indoor pool, outdoor pool, the Aquarium, a Children's Museum, and at our condo. On the last day of vacation, Paul and I sat out back playing cards and drinking cocktails while Cole slept and Paul played, a nice relaxing day. On our way down to South Carolina, we stopped in our old neighborhood, Rockville, Maryland to catch up with some friends. We went to the National Zoo with my friend Becky and her daughter Isabel, had dinner and drinks with the Sypes family, and brunch the next day with friends Lauren, Mike, Stella and Mikey. On Saturday we left our condo at 1:00 and arrived home in Buffalo at 6:45 am (a VERY long drive). Both my boys were troopers in the car, Cole slept almost the whole way and Paul watched DVD's. I think we are all happy to be home and return to our regular routines but as far as vacations go, this one was fantastic!
